Postgraduate Group Theory Conference 2007
I co-organised the 9th Annual Postgraduate Group Theory Conference. You can find more details at www.pgtc2007.org.
Mathematical writing
The following were done during my A-levels, mostly to learn LaTeX. Most of this is rubbish, and there is certainly no serious maths here!
- Calculus
- Chi-squared distribution
- Orthogonality of trigonometric functions
- Evaluating the Riemann Zeta function at even parameters
- A proof that the harmonic series diverges
- Integrating a power multiplied by an exponent
More interesting stuff, done during my undergraduate degree.
- Yet another derivation of the value of the normal distribution integral
- An algebraic proof of the fundamental theorem of algebra (PS and DVI)
- My final year dissertation: An introduction to p-adic numbers, p-adic integration, and zeta functions of groups (PS and PDF)
Talks
- Group cohomology: cohomological dimension and Poincaré duality groups (Cambridge Kinderseminar, 30/04/08) (PS and PDF)
Poetry
No, not by me!
- A poem about topology
Mathematica
Again, done during my A-levels, while playing with Mathematica. I hardly ever use Mathematica (or any other computer algebra system, for that matter) nowadays.
